Human Resources Business Partner

About the team

Mortgage Lenders of America (MLOA), a Zillow Group company, is looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team. The HRBP will be a strategic advisor to management and employees in our Seattle location. You will handle daily HR activities including employee relations, workforce planning, organizational integration and culture building.

About the role
  • In this role, you will collaborate with business leadership, HR Director and broader HR team to establish HR plans and solutions to achieve strategic business initiatives and deliver world-class results.
  • Partner with leaders at multiple levels and their teams to develop and execute HR strategies and activities that cultivate growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. This includes implementing programs, processes and tools to help set managers and employees up for success.
  • Assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, labor relations, compensation, career development, and leadership development and drive the appropriate solutions in these areas.
  • Partner with leadership and other HR groups to find opportunities to attract, develop and retain people to achieve their fullest potential.
  • Coach and counsel managers on maintaining positive employee relations for a wide range of issues. May include conducting investigations in response to employee issues and working with HR Director to recommend/implement courses of action based on investigation results.
  • Support the analysis and facilitation of leadership and cultural initiatives. Use influence and mentoring skills to cultivate a culture that reflects our core values.
  • Liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations.
  • Own the communication and rollout of HR programs and projects.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned which may include cross-team initiatives across all U.S. locations.
Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of HR-related experience
  • You have the ability to achieve results in a vibrant environment and navigate leaders through a variety of organizational changes.
  • You have knowledge of HR policies, procedures, compliance and practices and experience in developing, executing and maintaining HR projects and programs.
  • You have demonstrable ability to diagnose problems using critical thinking skills and identify and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills as well as social and coaching skills.
  • You have shown an ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Windows environment, including MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint), and report preparation and updating.
  • Experience with HCM systems (Workday) preferred.
  • Able to handle workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities.
  • Able to work both on a team (as member and/or leader) and independently to deliver results.
